Telephones

So I've just realised that i seem to be always with my friends when not at uni or work. I don't have the need to be with them to feel happy, I just seem to always say yes to doing something when called on my mobile phone. It made me think that i don't seem to have much time to myself due to my social butterflyness. There have been weeks where i simply turn of my phone and properly complete half finished uni work, clean my dirty share house, or go down to the pub with my laptop have a few ales and search the net for new music. What happened to the old days when we used to say I'll see you at 11 without having to send a text saying "Sorry running late, see you in 10". Sure having a mobile phone on you is convenient, but it appears to me that you are always going to be contactable from your work, friends and family. Maybe I'm just too nice and have to start saying no, but some days it seems that my life revolves around my phone (even though i never any credit) and sometimes i feel like taking the battery out and pitching it in the vege patch. Thoughts?
